Market Research - Outline

Description

CEPA Güímar's teachers have had a meeting to brainstorm about working together around a project called "Market research"
  •  Jéssica Noda (Science teacher) has suggested the topic and provided the planning, and the rest of the staff have included ideas and ways of carrying it out.

  • We'll work with students from the following groups: Candelaria II A mañana, Candelaria II B mañana and Güímar II mañana. Why these groups? Because the permanent staff work in common with these groups, while other groups have some other teachers who are provisional and don't depend on our school directly. They just come to teach certain subjects.

  • Learners from those groups are trying to get their Secondary Education degree at the end of term.

  • Some of these students will visit Mytilene (Greece) in April 2013 (two students) and Bochum (Germany) in July 2012 (two students).
Aims

• Students will look up for information about the socio-economic environment of the shire to set up an entrepreneurial project: setting up a business in the area.

•Our learners will prepare a questionnaire and ask people in the street about their point of view in relation to having new business points around (students will display a list of them).

•Environmental impact: our learners will be aware of it, looking up for information to prevent impact.

•The students will predict expenses and benefits of the chosen enterprise.

Assessments

• Each group will report every single decision and performance, so it's possible to follow all the steps. We'll create a learners' blog to do so (this blog)

• The students will present their research and provide their own conclusions, using multimedia files to support their presentation. Education materials • Internet conexion (computers room) • Digital board in the classrooms.

• Software: PowerPoint/Impress; Excel; Word/Write
